Summary/Abstract: Abstract: The character is the one who binds the memories with the autobiography (the nonfiction of fiction) by the fact that this entity with the narrator shows us, within the relationship author-narrator-character, the credibility degree of the author and the presence/absence of him. Robert Musil (the 25th Notebook) talked about two egos which are expressed in his text: the biographical ego and the fictional ego and about the fact that the author does not identify himself with either of them. He is a “variable combination between those two”. Musil also stated that the autobiographical style, in our case the autofiction, is because of the “fictional autobiographical” egos ‘overlap. In this study we intend to analyze the identity relationship between author, narrator and character from the novel The 25th Hour by the exclusive report to the character of Traian Korugă, which we consider to be the author’s biographical ego. The identity that we proposed to analyze within this subchapter will have as a starting point the identity of Traian Korugă’s character, reflected in his lifetime story because, as Paul Ricoeur signaled, “the story’s identity reveals the character’s identity.” The use of the narrative scheme taken by Greimas from Propp is considered to be useful in order to easier recover the character’s identity and to make the bound between the identity theory and the narrative structures. Another purpose of us is to underline the fact that in the setup of the story, the identity is presented as a gift, powerfully related to the membership of a group, and as the elements of the narrative scheme evolve, this becomes construction.
