Summary/Abstract: After his canonization as a saint, King Vladislav takes an important place in Hungarian sculpture and painting tradition. The semantic analysis of his image is related to the iconographie and hagiographie investigations, but it is not equivalent to them. The author closely follows the way and the approach, by means of which certain signals are selected and developed into semiotic signs, forming the iconographie and semantic image of the king-saint.
