On the Communicative System or Folklore Genres

Summary/Abstract: This article considers the methodological problems of research of folklore genres. The author has set himself the aim of enumerating and systematizing the factors of social communication, in order to show the system of binary oppositions and to present a theory of the levels of hierarchical genre oppositions. Genre hierarchies can be presented with the aid of groups of features, touching the sender, the receiver, coding, decoding communication. A distinction is thus made between the forms of everyday speech, the specialized folklore language and the professional oral language. A bibliography of works on the theory of genres, the theory of communication and folklore terminology is attached to the article.
