Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of the linguistic and cultural school images in a literarytext aimed at youth. The author uses Awantury kosmiczne by Edmund Niziurski as anexample of such the images. For Niziurski, school is both, a place where social relationsand a community of values and bahaviours are built and a place which represents the stateof the society. It is reflected in the linguistic level of the novel which introduces someambivalent semantic connotations connected with the lexeme “school”.
