Summary/Abstract: This essay debates the problem of Lucian Blaga’s metaphysical system in relation with Martin Heidegger’s concept of “a new beginning” in philosophical thinking. According to the author, Blaga’s metaphysical thoughts transcend the history of metaphysics and are part of a new way of thinking, the “dogmatic” way, which brings the philosophical quarrels concerning metaphysics to an end. Thus, his writings, often considered “out of fashion” in comparison with other philosophical movements of his time, can be also viewed as “ahead of their time”.
