Summary/Abstract: When it comes to period, following the emergency disaster / catastrophe, and activities to be undertaken in order to more effectively what, in quantitative and qualitative terms, eliminate the consequences of the harmful effects, one of the major steps to be taken is certainly a report on the situation on the ground . The report should include: year, month, day and hour resulting natural (or other) disasters that struck and destroyed or partially destroyed, the archival materials and registry material holder. The report should contain a brief description of the events that followed the natural disaster and the opinion whether it was possible to prevent the above-mentioned event. The holders of archive materials and registration materials provide general but, in accordance with the situation, the special conditions for the implementation of measures for preservation and protection that could be sublimated in the plans and instructions for taking measures to protect registration materials and archival materials in emergency situations. The plan should include all the steps that are required to register in respect of the moment when an exceptional circumstance (earthquake, flood, fire, etc.) to rescue memento documentation and bringing the same into a state of usefulness. The paper also points to the fact, through experience Historical Archive of Kikinda, to show examples, in which the record on the technical inspection it turned out that the primary protection of cultural treasures is inadequate and solely for this reason was that there was a partial or total destruction of registry units, which are to a large extent can “regain its original condition and cure”, for their possible use in practice.
