Summary/Abstract: Information literacy, a concept that is closely related to the idea of lifelong learning and constructivist learning paradigm, enables acquisition of metacompetences that are necessary for lifelong learning, but also expects metacompetences transfer that can bridge the gap between information illiterate and literate persons, and facilitate the transformation of information society to knowledge society. Recognizing the importance of information literacy concept and following the recommendations of contemporary international standards related to pedagogical training of teachers, the Department of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo included Information Literacy subject into the Teachers Pedagogical Training Program for 2012. In regard to mentioned subject, this paper will make a brief excursus into the content of newly introduced subject, compare expected learning outcomes with actual learning outcomes derived from evaluation sheets and ultimately try to recognize further necessary research in this regard.
