Summary/Abstract: European funds are, especially in times of economic crisis, one of the key resources of financing local and regional development. The paper examines specific aspects of using these funds in 2010, highlighting issues that should be taken into account in planning future operational programs. It also emphasizes the need for partnership and social cohesion in each local community. The authors insist on achieving regional convergence of European funding.
