Summary/Abstract: This study presents an exploration into textual sources related to the history of the city of Nymburk. Its aim is to estimate further possibilities of research of the development of primary education in a period starting with the defeat of the Estates in the battle at White Mountain. The author follows the gradual disintegration of the pre-1620 system of education in the town. The appendix contains an edition of three documents from 1631–1633 related to the administrators of the Nymburk school.
