Summary/Abstract: The concept of entre-deux seems to be dominant in Guy de Maupassant’s short stories. Often, Maupassant’s work induces the reader’s curiosity concerning the events but, at the same time, a malaise due to the permanent presence of fear, of fatality and a strong paranoia feeling. Is this mental delirium the source of his writings? Thus, we are interested to know the answer to a hypothetical question: Is Maupassant the hero of his writings?
