Psychological Features in the Provision of Information on Television News Broadcasts

Summary/Abstract: The research covers the primetime television broadcasts of the Bulgarian National Television (channel BNT1), public provider of media services, and the commercial Bulgarian television bTV. The monitoring has been carryed out for a period of two years (19/28.03.2010 and 19/28.03.2011). Consequently, the same events took place during the above mentioned period. The events, in turn, are either covered by qualitative and quantitative indices, according to the editorial policy, psychological attitude of the spectators, the creative vision and professionalism of journalists or not covered at all. The findings of the research enabled to work out a theoretical model which media follow in provision of the news broadcasts. General conclusions have been drawn.
