Church Slavonic Manuscripts of the Prayer Molitva o izbavlenii otú bluda from the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius

Summary/Abstract: The study deals with so far unexplored manuscripts of the prayer called Molitva o izbavlenii otú bluda, which are preserved in three manuscript collections from the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius (from the years 1445, 1524 and 16th century). The incidence of known manuscript versions of the prayer in manuscripts of Forty Gospel Homilies by Pope Gregory the Great (Besědy na evangelije) and in the ancient Euchologium Sinaiticum strongly reinforces the hypothesis of the Great Moravian origin of their common archetype. The aim of the study is to reveal the relationship of the newly discovered texts to familiar texts. An integral part of the study is also a new edition of the text of the prayer, which is based on the text of all known manuscripts.
