Summary/Abstract: The article presents a part from a case-study of Aroumanians' ethnic identity in Bulgaria. The author's goal was to explore the contents, meaning and connotations suggested and given to the main ethnicity markers by Aroumanians (three ethnicity markers chosen and presented in the text: ethnic proper name; language (mother tongue); myths of origin and common ancestry) today, at the specific discourses they have been suggested in the narratives, oral historical tradition, collective memory, life-stories, folklore. The main task was to show the role and functions of these markers or in other words — which way ethnicity markers have been exploited, have been made use of as a resource in the process of construction of actual patterns of Aroumanians' ethnic identity in Bulgaria.
