Summary/Abstract: Due to its adaptability, ease-of-use, and open-source status, Moodle [1] is usually the learning management system of choice when starting a course repository of any kind. It has an advanced learning process management system, as well as content management and user tracking. The communication tools that come pre-installed (as well as those developed by the Moodle enthusiastic community) cover all the users' needs concerning the learning process. However, when it comes to a more social approach, Moodle lacks the dynamics of human casual interaction and another platform is needed. This new platform, be it a standalone solution (such as elgg [2]) or a tailored application, needs to freely interact with Moodle. Since each platform (usually) has its own authentication process, a robust single sign-on solution is critical. This paper aims to study existing SSO solutions for Moodle, test some of them, and ultimately chose and adapt one of them for use with our eLearning applications.
