Summary/Abstract: The “Laykuchka” in the central park of Plovdiv is a modern urban men’s space, based on everyday discourse and on identity built upon self-expression. It produces texts in a specific context, but does not form collective memory, which is usually inherent to every community. This is a group, inhabiting a space on the border between the public and the private, between the natural and the cultural. The constructed communication and the constituted community structure are visible only to the researcher’s view; from the outside this community is looked upon with ridicule and condescension in contrast with the self-reception – with the appropriate seriousness and respect.
