Summary/Abstract: The views of Moscow University professor V. M. Khvostov on the problems of gen-der equality and conceptual basics of women’s movement are examined. These views are reflected in his fundamental works published in 1905—1914 years. Scientist’s methodologi-cal approaches to the development of gender sociology basics are demonstrated. The author stresses the topicality of scientific generalizations made by professor Khvostov for modern gender theory.
