Apple market in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the scale of cultivation, processing and consumption of apples in Poland, as well as Polish apple exports. The author also discusses key aspects of increasing profitability of apple growing, such as need to change the structure of apple varieties and the role of the groups of apple producers. EU measures in response to the Russian embargo on agricultural products and initiatives to boost demand for apples such as promotional campaigns and ‘School Fruit Scheme’ are also presented.
