Summary/Abstract: The author presents several monetary finds, isolated and in treasures, that marked out the path along the Siret River, since the 3rd century AD. The first provincial Romanian currency is a coin of „Provincia Dacia” type. The finds continue with two Byzantine treasures (from Movileni, Galaţi county) and with six Byzantine coins dating from between 971 and 1092. The Medieval period is illustrated with many treasures (Galaţi-Vadu Raşcu, Ţepu, Ţigăneşti, Umbrăreşti, Ciorăşti, Podoleni, Tecuci) and with isolated finds.
