Summary/Abstract: Th e article Inclusive education as an opportunity to develop both able-bodied students and those with retardation describes ideas of inclusion and inclusive education in order to show values of joint education. It points to resent change in perception and sensitivity towards persons with retardation. In result of the change the idea of inclusive education is being developed in Poland and all over the world. It emphasizes that the foundation of the right direction of social interactions of able-bodied persons and those with retardation is not an act of tolerance but full acceptance and readiness to being together in spite of differences. It argues that creating of education space for every student in class can bring many positive changes which will infl uence permanently the value systems and attitudes of both students and teachers.
