Summary/Abstract: With regard to a bronze statuette found in Thrace and a replica of the Lateran Poseidon type attention is drawn to a particularity of replicating statuary during the Roman period. The Lateran Poseidon type allows for arguing, which this paper does, over whether a sculptured original is behind the figure or we have here a copy of a popular motif.
