Summary/Abstract: Caring for good relations between subordinates and their superiors may help to cope with the growing economical and human resource problems in Polish companies. The present study are theoretically grounded in social learning theory and interactive psychology. We assumed that the person–company fit does not depend on qualifications only, but rather on individual preferences in the way the work is done, values, work climate and the relationship with supervisors. The theoretical considerations and empirical analyzes presented in this paper focus on the match between subordinates and superiors with respect to self-control and job satisfaction (JS), and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). We anticipated three possible types of the matching: complementary, neutral and contradictory. The research was conducted in 2014 on a group of 74 managers and 167 employees.
