Summary/Abstract: The profession of school psychologist in Romania has been under legal regulations since the year 2004. Since then, several specialties have existed in psychology, including that of "school psychologist" and "psychologist in the specialty area of educational psychology, and school and vocational counseling", as they appear in the Romanian Classification of Occupations. The first Deontological Ethical Code for the psychological profession in Romania was published in 2004 and was replaced in 2013 by a revised edition. The present study included 140 school psychologists in Romania, to examine whether or not Romanian school psychologists have a proper understanding of the general Deontological Ethical Code and apply it. Results revealed that several aspects of the Deontological Code are not well known, nor applied by school psychologists in Romania. A close examination of participants’ responses highlights the deontological vulnerabilities of the profession of school psychologist in Romania.
