The environmental aspect of municipal investments realized in naturallyvaluable areas in north-eastern Poland

Summary/Abstract: For many years, the local and national authorities are trying to work to improvethe quality of the environment. The effectiveness of these actions requires appropriate environmental investments. They make it possible implementation of modern technologies, the use of renewable energy sources, construction of new facilities to improve the quality of the environment. The article presents the results of surveys conducted among local governments municipalities in north-east Poland where the area of at least 50% is covered by the Nature 2000 program or where is situated national'landscape park. The study included 83 municipalities, mostly rural of agricultural character. Survey questionnaires filled people who have influence on the decisions taken in the community.
