Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the expansion of the Mongols between 1206-1260. Trying to explain an event with major consequences for the world history in the 13th century and beyond it, the author analyzes the causes which favored the almost incredible series of conquests, the directions of expansion and the organization of the huge Mongol empire.
