Summary/Abstract: With all else he was, as versatile enlightenment figure of his time, Safvet-bey Basagic given its modest contribution to the recording of oral tradition, that record is as such necessarily understood in the context of the German transmission and South Slavic acceptance of the romantic idea in the context of socio-political processes of the national identification. These are four complete and an unfinished poems, with all the characteristics of the southern (Murko) Herzegovina-Montenegro (Schmaus, Buturović) type - linear narrative of reduced action and a small number of characters, with the plot and characters are emphasized locally marked. And with such a noticeable contamination of depleted narrative the songs to today’s reader can do interesting, and researcher as literary templates the suitable for different contemporary critic, folklore and cultural interpretation.
