Summary/Abstract: Archival material is a cultural heritage of the general interest for Bosnia and Herzegovina, so its protection is an administrative task of high priority. In order to acquire the archival records of government agencies, archivists must constantly oversee their records management and respond to any deficiencies in the application of laws and bylaws which regulate duties of these administrative institutions. This paper gives an overview of the state of arrangement of archival and documentary materials in the ministries and the importance of the documentation created by their work. Also, it will reflect on the work of their records managers, their expertise and interest in the job, and it will talk about the issues of accommodation of records within these ministries.
