Summary/Abstract: Archives and various other institutions publish archival material. Since the sale of these books is poor, the question of profitability arises together with some other questions: is there any need for publishing archival material or is it a surplus? Do the creators use published archival material and to what extent does this affect its availability? Does handwriting affect the use of a particular material and is there any need for publication of recent archival material? Does it make sense to publish documents in Latin, German or Italian? To what extent does the writing of the documents themselves affect their use and therefore the availability of such material?
