Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to scientifically describe and explain suicide terrorism from a psychological point of view and analyse the psychological characteristics and motivational factors that trigger suicidal terrorists. The author of this study will seek to provide an adequate answer to the question of what motivates suicide bombers to act in such a manner and whether they really are deviants and mentally ill fanatics as most qualify them. In fact, suicide terrorists are one of the most extreme criminological problems and phenomena and certainly not a new aspect in human history. The specificity of this form of terrorism is reflected in the expression of the determination of terrorists to lose their lives in carrying out the attack, in order to attain political goals. This form of terrorism is the deadliest terrorist modality and its specificity is manifested in the form of a violent act in which a human life is a deadly and destructive terrorist weapon.
