Summary/Abstract: The article is on the development of the well-known theological idea ‘Wisdom-Sophia’ in the Cyrillo-Methodian hagiographic cycle – The Vita of Constantine and Vita of Methodius, The Prologue Vita and Vita Brevis of Constantine-Cyril (the so-called Assumption of Cyril), The Panegyric of Constantine-Cyril, The Panageryc of Cyril and Methodius, and above all, The Mass of Constantine-Cyril. Several episodes of the above-mentioned works are presented in a modern way, based on the research done by Fr. Grivec and A. Danti and also on the detailed description of the this theological idea. An attempt is made, again in connection with the idea of Wisdom-Sophia, to explain the appearance of representations of Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher in the altars of the Medieval Bulgarian churches, in the tier of the great prelates of the Christian Church, and of his well-known contamination with Cyril of Alexandria.
