Summary/Abstract: The use of contact synonyms in the literature of Bulgarian Catholics from the period of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century is revealed in this article. Their standard language model was built on a common South Slavic base. The synonyms for expressing certain meaning, existing at least in works of two of these three men of letters are investigated. We can distinguish two groups of contact synonyms: 1) cliche pairs, which we can come across in different authors in their identical shape; 2) using one and the same lexeme which in different works creates different groups of synonyms. We settle the reasons for preserving or shattering the language stability of "Illyric" pattern and point out individual language and conceptual views of the authors.
