Summary/Abstract: Adrian Maniu (1891-1968) has been famous in the history of Romanian literature especially through his activity as a poet . Although, the poet from “the Thought” is the author of some certain value fantastic prose, placed in Allan Edgar Poe’s decline. In this regard, the volumes From the poison glass (1919) and The lord who made gold (1930) are proved to be eloquent. The narration entitled A wild spring shows the motive of the cursed place, Death murderer and Water wizard relies on black magic, while The cupbearer and the black boil insists on sensational. The poet has been felt in these narrations that, as a rule, take the appearance of some short poems in prose. The narrative entitled The lord who made gold is considered to be the most famous that shows the attempt of transposing gothic into the autochthonous realm.
