Summary/Abstract: This aim of this paper is to highlight the balkanic features of Ion Barbu’s oeuvre, culturally orientated to this space. The arguments for this approach are the new thematic orientation along with the oriental imaginary and balkanic atmosphere of the poems included in his antonpannescian cicle. The cicle dedicated to Anton Pann depicts a Romanian world strongly connected to this aboriginal space.
