Summary/Abstract: In the XIXth century the Romanian cultural tradition admitted the idea of consciousness that the Romanians belong to a space of culture and civilization. The national identity was going through a transition period for the entire definitional period that is known in the literature of the time which recorders the movements of thought, attitudes and cultural practices. Our approach tries to reconstruct the Romanian identity mind, the socio-cultural climate of the time and the staging of events that contributed to its formation.
