Summary/Abstract: The play entitled The Pearl Thief written by Valeriu Anania reconfigures a biblical parable, that of the Prodigal Son, with the action being placed in an exotic environment. The theme of the play is the finding (or the fishing) of one’s self as a result of painful experiences and avid searches.
