Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with metro-rhythmic traits of marches for the wind band by Lithuanian composer Jonas Domarkas. Apart from the means of expression typical for marches, inventive and original usage of unconventional rhythmic patterns, non-quadruple metric structures, even changing meters can be found in Domarkas’s marches. These elements of metrorhythmic which are not specific to traditional marches allow to put Domarkas’s marches into the specific category of concert marches and to evaluate them as an exceptional phenomenon in Lithuanian tradition and in the context of wind band marches practice in general.
