INVESTIGATION OF ICT COMPETITION OF STUDENTS ENTERING UNIVERSITY

Summary/Abstract: Results of investigation of ICT competition of students entering Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania are presented. Level of competition is evaluated according of ECDL program requirements. About 25% of students are entering university with knowledge of ICT, that is enough for further studies, but most of them have not suffi cient level of competition. Reasons of such low level of competition among young people are discussed and recommendations for solving this problem are presented. Also principles of further development of ICT competition in university studies are described.
