Summary/Abstract: The study is based on the earliest extant Middle Bulgarian copy of the third quarter of the 14th c., compared with three copies of the 15th and 16th c., which by textological peculiarities are divided into two subgroups and represent the interpretative redaction by the Preslav men of letters of the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah in the Middle Bulgarian and Russian manuscript tradition. To the copies which follow the Russian tradition are added more archaic fragments of chapters 1 and 2 which probably are connected with the original translation of the Parimeynik or with the full Methodian translation of the Bible. From the lexical characterization made on the basis of the Middle Bulgarian copy follows the conclusion of the unity of the text in the functioning of the separate lexical layers and the absence of a strict distinction in the use of the so-called Cyrillo-Methodian and Preslav variants in the interpretative part and in the translation of the verses.
