Wise popular Sayings and Albanian Socialist Reality

Summary/Abstract: Our folklore, being a living organism, whose pulse beats to the same rhythm as that of the life of the working masses, has always closely followed and reflected this reality in all aspects. It goes without saying that the level of its breadth and strength has been conditioned by the importance of the problems raised by this or that historical epoch, as well as by the scale of the cultural institutions. Judging from this aspect, no previous historical period of history can be compared to that of the anti-fascist struggle for national liberation and the popular socialist revolution. In the same way, the level, the forms and the means of expression cannot be identical for the various folk genres, which is related to the particularities of the social and artistic function, the possibilities and the cognitive and expressive means of each genre. If one genre, for example, fails to adapt to the new historical and social climate and interrupts its artistic life, another, on the contrary, grows and flourishes precisely in this climate, in the third place finds ways and possibilities to adapt energetically and surely.
