Summary/Abstract: The study characterizes the initiative providing for the special supervision mode over the insurance firms creating systemic risk – G-SIIs and the selected aspects of this initiative potential impact on the insurance market. The discussed potential impact was presented in the system of positive and negative influence on supervision institutions and insurance firms. The conclusion emphasizes that the solutions dedicated to a small number of insurance companies can have an indirect impact on the global insurance market functioning.
