Analysis of the economic dimension influence of the applied expert system on the market value of remains - case study of total damage eliminated from the civil liability insurance policy of the vehicle owner

Summary/Abstract: In the article an attempt was made to draw attention to issues related to influence of applied expert system on the so called market value of remains, exemplified by the case study of the total damage eliminated from the civil liability insurance policy. For empirical purposes, numerical experiment was used in the case study that is based on the forecast of the value of remains after application of several expert systems currently used by insurance companies in Poland. The deliberations were supplemented with the description of the influence of applied tool on the process of estimating of remains’ market value. The aim of the article is to signal the existing formal limitations and the desired prospective directions of changes in the process of determining the market value of the remains with respect to the damages liquidated from the liability insurance by insurance companies and the evaluations performed by car appraisers and court experts.
