Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results from the analysis of publications by the reviewers of Literaturnaya gazeta, focused on the broadcasting practice of Channel One as one of the leading Russian media. The authors (television critics) paid attention to such components of the functioning of this television company as quality of programs, their possible social effects, behavior and remarks of guests, professionalism of journalists and authors of television projects, persuasion techniques used by journalists, ideological views and value guidelines of the management and employees. Having studied 155 articles, wherein the television critics assessed Channel One, we can speak about a negative portrait of this television company, formed on the pages of Literaturnaya gazeta.
