Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the results of research into the problems and topics of publications by four television critics taken from three federal print media – Moskovsky Komsomolets, Novaya Gazeta and Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The subject area of critical essays was diverse. Many problems were discussed in the political, ethical and social contexts. However, the critics almost did not write on the legal, economic and technological aspects of modern television. We have studied 527 articles and have come to the conclusion that despite the theoretical postulates of Russian researchers, the contemporary television criticism is not a multiple-aspect type of creative work, which interprets all the existing sides of television broadcasting for the audience.
