Summary/Abstract: Introducing and establishing mutual archival information systems on the basis of valid international archival standards demands broad organizational preparations in a sense of establishing and formalizing archival professional processes and the state some archival institutions are. It is possible to use different models and implementation of some solutions in archival institutions are dife rent because of lack of standardization. In practice that produces discrepancy among system support and real procedural needs in specific situations. That is the reason why establishing the sup port for computer systems in order to manage archival work pre sents substantial financial and organizational project, which can be achieved in a longer period of time. First results of establishing this kind of system in Regional archive of Maribor are showing shortterm needs for coherent action from archivists and system developers. While on the other hand long.term expectations of positive results in segments of norma tive control, because they only need to be included once, and use them multiple times, which points out to a longterm rationalisati on of work in archival institutions. Among the bigger problems of archival profession we can include lack of standard's content interpretation in a form of national direction and concrete archival professional instructions. Other problems in that context presents lack of archival practice in a segment of establishing and use of normative control during everyday archival work. Including the data about unit lists of archival material and their normative records presents new methological challenges on a field of archival professional work that bears the brunt in segment of normative control and absorbing the context. in that sense it will be needed, in the archival professional work, with already establis hed standards ISAD(G)2 and ISAAR CPF2 to accept orientation of future international archival standards for describing activities and functions of corporative ISAF bodies.
