Summary/Abstract: The European Union milk and milk products market in the European Union has undergone one of the major changes in a reform of Common Agricultural Policy. This happened due to the abolition of the existing quota system since 1984. Consequently, volume of milk production increased followed by the reduction of farmgate milk price. The study focused on the calculation of four break-even points for dairy production with the persepective to 2020 and farmgate milk price which covers the cost of production. The results show a slightly increased break even in the future. At the same time farmgate milk price will have a simillar level like in 2015. This will lead to the situation that in the majority of dairy farms value of sales will not even cover the possibility of restoration of household effects.
