LOGISTICS CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF POWDER COATINGS

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the logistics chain management system and practical problems in managing the company X, a manufacturer of powder coatings. One of the characteristic features of the scrutinised system is the use of logistics as the concept of VMI – Vendor Management Inventory. It assumes that the manufacturer/supplier generates the orders on the behalf of the customer on the basis of information received from them. Unfortunately, this involves the necessity to take responsibility by company X not only for the adequate supply of own production process, but also that of their customers.
