Appropriateness of eco-rating of passenger cars

Summary/Abstract: The character of a passenger car causes that it is a source of many health and environment risks. Observed intensive development of the number of produced and used cars has confirmed that they have substantial impact on the environment which cannot be ignored. Due to the importance and topicality of the issues this paper is focused on the assessment of appropriateness of eco-rating of passenger cars. The scale of using passenger cars will be presented first. Next, the harmful effects of cars on the environment and changes in consumer’s proecological attitude will be shown. Finally examples of eco-rating system will be depicted. The article uses descriptive method, comparative method, reference books analysis and case study.
