METROPOLIS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – TRICITY PUBLIC TRANSPORT CASE STUDY

Summary/Abstract: Effective public transport system is one of the key elements for the high standard and quality of life in cities. Thus, it is important to pursue the development of this form of transport in order to ensure urban accessibility and mobility, minimizing at the same time the car use. Such a system reduces congestion and reduces the negative impact of transport on the environment, ensuring sustainable and smart development in the agglomerations. The purpose of this article is to investigate the quality of public transport within the Metropolitan Public Transport Association of Gdansk Bay throughout a research survey among its users. It is assumed that that the level of the public transport integration in the metropolitan is not satisfactory.
