THE ANALYSIS OF THE ECONOMIC COSTS RESULTING FORM FDI INFLOWS

Summary/Abstract: Foreign direct investments are considered to be one of the most preferred forms of capital transfer between different countries. They were also an important part of the economic transformation that took place in Poland. Like any other form of investment this one also carries some costs that must be incurred by the potential beneficiary. This article is an attempt to take a critical look at the issue of foreign direct investment in Poland. The author has made an attempt to verify the potential risks arising from the strong relationship of the Polish economy with foreign capital. The subject is realized on the basis of the literature in the field of foreign direct investment and statistical data from the Polish National Bank, Eurostat and UNCTAD.
