Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the present research is advancing to the researchers new information on the archaeological site of Rapoltu Mare – “Pescărie”, Hunedoara County. This site fills in the archaeological map of the area by a rich and diverse material.The salvage archaeological excavations from Rapoltu Mare – “Pescărie” confirm the existence of a VIIIth-IXth century habitation in this area of South-Western Transylvania. It must be highlighted that the herein presented archaeological materials are the very first discovered and published in the last 20 years.
