Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present and access the proposed forms of support electricity production from renewable energy sources (RES) in Poland. The European Union countries promote the development of such energy. It is estimated that the auction system may encourage investors to offer low energy prices. Price undercutting may result in the withdrawal of investors from the agreements. In a system of fixed prices risk to public authorities can create an excessive increase in the supply of renewable energy. The introduction of a limit to purchase the right amount of energy will weaken the interest of manufacturers to innovate and reduce costs. Barter system (discount) discourages to invest in individual RES and can promote cooperation of owners of small installations in the form of clusters or energy cooperatives at the local level.
